Chipotle Really Coming to Fountain Square

31 July 2008 - 11:33 AM by Chris

burrito

The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting this morning that Chipotle has applied for a liquor license for a location on Fountain Square. This is about as official as it can get without a press release or actual signage going up on a storefront.

We still don’t know when the burrito maker will open or exactly which space they will occupy, but color me excited.

Finally, Chipotle is coming to the Square. I can already envision the insanely long lines.

Random Thoughts

13 April 2008 - 11:14 AM by Chris

This post could also be titled, "Proof Chris has ADD."

Edwin Encarnacion has been at bat with the bases loaded and 2 outs 3 times in the last 2 days. He popped out all three times. I didn't mention his 4 throwing errors in 9 games. I never thought I'd miss Aaron Boone.

I thought Halo 3 was sweet until I started playing Call of Duty 4. No contest.

I lusted over Burnout Paradise when I started seeing reviews and trailers. I downloaded the demo and thought it was really good, but it didn't make me want to run out and buy it right away. Amazon had it for $20 off a couple of weeks ago, so I snagged it. I wish I had bought it the day it came out. It's that good. Haven't played it online yet. Gotta get that Xbox Live Gold card...

Rachel and Ruth are addicted to Lego Star Wars.

Cameron is addicted to his new train set.

I'm addicted to Chipotle. Why, oh why, isn't there one in downtown Cincinnati?

Winter bowling season is coming to an end. I'll likely finish with a 207 average on Monday nights (at Glenmore) and a 185 on Friday (Colerain on a sport shot). I'm pretty happy with my average on Monday. I'm pretty happy I won't be bowling at Colerain next year.

Two out-of-town bowling tournaments coming up: St. Clairsville and Louisville. Sometimes profitable, always fun.

If you use Windows and need multiple applications in view at any given time, may I suggest GridMove.

Someone needs to tell George Grande he's not on the radio.

Rather than eat his lunch yesterday, Cameron decided to put it in the toilet. Sorry, no pictures.

So, anything you want to talk about?

Chipotle Eyeballing Fountain Square [Local News]

17 November 2007 - 10:53 AM by Chris

ChipotleMaker of monstrously massive meat and rice logs, Chipotle, has reportedly been making longing glances at storefronts on the Square with intentions of moving in.

The consequences will be profound: thousands of hard working downtowners will enter with pangs of hunger and thousands will exit with pangs of love.

God bless you, Chipotle. God bless you.

Drivers are stupid [Road Rage]

2 November 2007 - 08:54 AM by Chris

Imagine you are driving on an interstate highway on your way to work and traffic is starting to clog up. You are in the left-most lane. Just ahead, you notice one of those newfangled overhead message boards that looks just like this (with this exact text):

Artimis Sign

What would you do? Stay in the left lane, only to try to get over after you see the multiple police cruisers and the disabled vehicle?

You mean you would actually move to one of the 3 lanes to your right? Oh, that's right. You have common sense.

Why don't the other 99% of the drivers in Cincinnati? They installed the message boards  for a reason: TO HELP YOU GET AROUND TRAFFIC PROBLEMS.

Read the sign and do what it says. ARGH!

Local News: Free Ice Cream October 15

13 October 2007 - 05:31 PM by Chris

Local establishment and Oprah's favorite ice cream maker, Graeter's, is finally returning to downtown Cincinnati by opening a new store on Fountain Square. The new location is in the space formerly occupied by the Cincinnati Visitors Center.

To commemorate the grand opening on Monday, Graeter's will give away free mini-scoops of ice cream from 11 AM to 1 PM.

No word on if it's one mini-scoop per person. Might have to bring some disguises.

Local News: Northgate Mall to Add Rave Movie Theater

12 October 2007 - 05:35 PM by Chris

According to Feldman Mall Properties, Inc., the owner of Northgate Mall in Cincinnati, Rave Motion Pictures has agreed to open a 14-screen, all-digital theater there.

It is tentatively scheduled to open in the fall of 2008 and occupy the space vacated by JC Penney, which moved to the new Stone Creek shopping center just up the street.

I've been to the Rave theater at Union Center and it has the wow-factor knob at 11. I'm definitely looking forward to this one opening.
