About the Luebbes

We're just your typical family of four: husband, wife, and two kids. We're nobody special, really. I'm a web designer/programmer, Rachel's a fantastic Cincinnati area wedding photographer, and the kids are, well, kids.

Chris Luebbe

At Work

Hey. Chris here. I work as a web developer for a charitable foundation in downtown Cincinnati called KnowledgeWorks Foundation. I take pride in the fact that the work that I do is in some small way helping transform the public education system in the state of Ohio. The work I do involves mysterious things like ASP.NET, C#, XTHML, CSS, MSSQL, AJAX, JavaScript, T-SQL, and XML. It doesn't involve things like Microsoft Word Save as Webpage, FrontPage, Dreamweaver, or similar.

There's something other than work?!?

I love to play with those two cute little kids I mentioned earlier. I also love to cozy up to my wife on the couch and watch a movie. Hopefully not one of her "geek" movies, though. These include anything with Freddie Prinze, Jr. or which originally aired on Disney Channel. They usually involve a dorky girl that gets picked on by either snotty girls/cheerleaders or the dumb jocks. At some point a charming/handsome boy talks to her on a dare and discovers he actually likes her. They see each other a few times and she finds herself falling madly in love with him. Before long, though, she finds out it was a prank, at which point, she never wants to speak to him again. But then either the guy does something totally romantic or she overhears the snotty girls/cheerleaders or guy jocks talking about how he is really in the dumpsters about the whole thing, or both, so she has a dramatic turn of emotion and comes running back to him. They live happily ever after. The End.

There's more than one Chris Luebbe

You would think that with an uncommon last name such as Luebbe, there wouldn't be too much overlap in given names. However, there are other Chris Luebbes floating about and I just want to clear up who's who. Google tells me that the impostor Chris has a PhD in Comparative Literature, is an Academic Advisor, listens to Morcheeba, is an instructor of Tai Chi, plays tenor saxophone, and plays with puppets.

Not me.

I like to bowl. Especially in tournaments. I do like to listen to music, and lately I've been getting (back) into 80's hair bands. I like to watch movies, although with the kids, it's been less frequently than I'd like. I like to play video games on the 360 and the Wii. Popular titles around these parts include MLB 2K8, Burnout Paradise, GTA IV, Lego Star Wars, Super Mario Galaxy, and Wii Fit. And of course, I like to dork around with this site.

So if you Google me, don't assume all the search results relate to me.

The rest of the gang's info will be along soon enough.
