Collapse All Nodes in Solution Explorer [Visual Studio Tip]

solutionexplorer Have you ever opened a project or website in Visual Studio 2005 and had Solution Explorer look like this? With every node expanded? Visual Studio just seems to do this randomly. You're left to collapse all the nodes manually or just leave them open. What a pain.

Well, thanks to the fine folks over at ITtoolbox Blogs, there is a solution: a handy little macro, which you can add to Visual Studio and then run from a custom toolbar you add to the IDE.

Head on over and follow the step-by-step instructions and never deal with this silly bug again. Of course, with yesterday's release of Visual Studio 2008 (for MSDN subscribers for now), hopefully this has been fixed and the macro is unnecessary.
